This webcast series "All About the Sun" is a joint program between the Stanford SOLAR Center at Stanford University and NASA's Learning Technologies Channel at the NASA-Ames Research Center, both located in California. Individual webcasts are tailored for either Grades 2-4, Grades 5-8 or Grades 9-12 on a variety of topics on Solar Astronomy. Students can interact and ask questions during the show using a chat room, and exciting activities are available for classroom use.

The Stanford SOLAR Center is operated by the Solar Oscillations Investigation (SOI) Team which are the principal investigators using the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) instrument on the SOHO Spacecraft studying the Sun.

The shows are hosted by
Paul Mortfield, an astronomer with the Stanford SOI team and also appears as The Backyard Astronomer on KPIX-TV in San Francisco.
