29 Aug 2000      At 11:30am Pacific time, a bright jet left the north pole and developed intoa partial halo CME. There is a really neat image at:

30 Aug 2000      Early this morning over the south pole a helmut streamer and CME that started lastnight continued to flow outward. Check out this image:

31 Aug 2000      There is a nice looking filament on disk in the north near sun center

01 Sep 2000      There are some nice looking sunspots near sun center. A partial halo CME went off early this morning from the backside of the sun. Here is a neat SOHO LASCO image:

05 Sep 2000      There was a C6 Flare this morning that happened nearly simultaneously in two differentactive regions, AR 9154 and AR 9149. AR 9154 emerged and grew rapidly over the weekend and is a good target for observations today.

06 Sep 2000      The sun is very quiet today, for an overview of solar activity, take a look at the EIT DailyActivity Report:

http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20000906.html

07 Sep 2000      There were four CME's last night and this morning seen in the latest EIT 195 Angstrom data. The sun is still very quiet with just two C class flares this morning.

08 Sep 2000      There were quite a few CME's yesterday seen in both EIT and LASCO images, take a look at bothinstrument's observation web pages:

http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/observations/2000/obs20000908.html

11 Sep 2000      There was an M flare from an active region on the west limb on Saturday.SOHO UVCS saw Comet 2P/ENCKE on Saturday. Here is an image:

Today the sun is very quiet - no sunspots at all!

12 Sep 2000      This morning SOHO LASCO saw a full halo CME from the south pole

13 Sep 2000      The sun is quiet again this morning

14 Sep 2000      Overnight a sunspot emerged from the active region nearing sun center. This morning there was an M flare from the southeast limb that had a CME associated with it.

15 Sep 2000      The regions that emerged yesterday near sun center had several flaresthis morning, including a high C flare and a low M flare.

18 Sep 2000      There were 2 M flares from the region at disk center on Saturday and someCME's that LASCO saw. This morning the active region in the south that is heading for sun center looks interesting, as does the new region coming over the east limb.

19 Sep 2000      There was an M flare this morning. Lots of flares!

20 Sep 2000      There was a backside CME from the northwest this morning.

21 Sep 2000      There are loops and other activity happening over the east limb.

22 Sep 2000      The region heading for disk center is huge and very interesting!

25 Sep 2000      AR 9169 is now exiting the MDI high resolution field of view, see:

http://mdisas.nascom.nasa.gov/gif_summary/mag/smdi_maglc_re_20000925_0703.gif
This region is large, but has been very inactive. There have been only C class flaresfrom this region.

26 Sep 2000      The sun is very queit today with only C class flares. The large spot that just left the MDIhigh resolution field of view is still very large and impressive.

27 Sep 2000      Take a look at the most recent movies of AR 9169 on the SOHO Home Page:

http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/hotshots/

28 Sep 2000      MDI will be observing AR 9172 tomorrow. AR 9172 is the small spot to the left of the highresolution field of view:

29 Sep 2000      There is a large coronal hole on disk at sun center that stretches from the north pole to thesouth pole of the sun. See the Yohkoh SXT image for today:
