Nordic Optical Telescope

The Nordic Optical Telescope on a small island of the Canaries : La Palma. This telescope was used for observations of oscillations in the star Eta Bootis.

The telescope is operated in collaboration between Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. With its main mirror of 2.56 meter it is a medium size telescope. The Nordic Optical Telescope has a number of so-called auxiliary instruments, among which there is a low-resolution spectrograph. This spectrograph was used in the studies of Eta Bootis. The spectrograph was developed and built at Århus University.
