Project SIIMONE
A good article, though in Germany, about the Germany SID project
named SIMONE.
====================================================================================
Dear Debbie,
I am
attaching a picture of the local newspaper on the first official
SID delivery to a German high school as printed of today.
The article is pretty neat as it is and it names the University
Stanford, if one ignores
it does not explain the term SIMONE (Sonnen und Ionosphären MOnitoring
NEtzwerk)
and does not specify funding by Astrium Satellites and Planetarium
Hamburg and naming
the German partner DLR.
I have provided this information to the press in a handout, but anyway
it is not a major problem
since the school kids will learn about it and there will be articles to
follow up on this. I will
take care.
The website for the article can be found here:

The remaining 2 SIDs will be handed out on April 12 and 23. The latter
date is in conjunction
with our major PR event for STEREO on April 23 - First 3D observations
from the STEREO mission.
The schools will build the Antenna and then once the instruments are
tuned up, contact you for data
transfer and collection. The three schools are aligned almost exactly NS
here allowing unique measurements
and we are using SOHO and STEREO for investigating the Sun's activity.
Norbert Jakowski will take care of the SIDs for Mecklenburg Vorpommern.
With best wishes from Göttingen,
Volker
PS. Of course everybody is eager to fly over to Stanford to deliver the
data rather than to ftp them :)
If you can make it to Hamburg and the Planetarium we can send you an
invitation or arrange a special international event
