Build a Spectroscope

April 6: This show will be broadcast live from Sarah Falk's classroom at Sandpiper Elementary School in Redwood City, California. Mrs. Falk's students have built the spectroscopes and performed several activities with the device. The students will present results from these activities and discuss their findings.
Solar Astronomer Dr. John Beck, from the Solar Oscillation Investigation team at Stanford University in California has been a visiting astronomer to this class as part of Project Astro. Dr. Beck will be on hand to answer students questions from the chatroom.

The April 7 shows, will be broadcast from NASA-Ames Research Center in California and will introduce the spectrum, the types of information astronomers can obtain from a spectrum and building this spectroscope for student use.
